Anthony Carmelo wants to be traded to NY Knicks, as it was reported, to join forces with their recently singed star Amar’e Stoudemire. If a deal with New York can’t be made, supposedly, Orlando, New Jersey, New Orleans and Houston are also on Anthony’s list of favorites.
But the Nuggets recently told the media that they have no intentions of trading the Baltimore native this offseason.
Carmelo still has one mandatory year left on a four-year deal with the team, and after he has an option to move to Denver in 2012 to play or to become a free agent.
Marc Stain from ESPSN still hopes to get a chance to get quality players in return.
A trade involving Anthony probably won’t happen until the Nuggets hire a new general manager.
The Nuggets recently parted ways with GM Mark Warkentien and assistant general manager Rex Chapman, the duo that offered Anthony a three-year, $65 million contract extension deal, earlier this month. Anthony is seeking both a longer-term deal and the chance to play for a sure contender for the league’s title.
