West Indian Day Parade 2010

West Indian Day ParadeLabor Day weekend has been full of festivals – from chicken flying contests to wing eating contests, and Monday the parades begin.

This year, the West Indian Day – which promises to be one of the largest parades in Brooklyn – marks its 42nd Anniversary of celebrating the Caribbean and West Indies.

Thousands of marchers, musicians and Caribbean chefs will be there to welcome people who are going to visit the festival.

The parade begins at 11am at Utica Avenue and will march to Grand Army Plaza along the Eastern Parkway.

Two million people are expected, so parking spots possibly won’t be available and it is better to use subway to get there.
