What is the Benefit of Black Rice?

Black RiceConsuming white rice instead of brown people are losing out on a lot of nutrition.

When white rice is produced it loses a lot of vitamins and microelements such as B vitamins, manganese, phosphorus and iron. Brown rice, on the other hand, still has the bran intact so it has more fiber and nutrients than white rice.

Speaking about nutrition, brown rice is a good choice and it also has much more flavor.

When it comes to fruits and vegetables, people should eat from all the different color groups. That’s because produce from different color categories tend to be rich in different nutrients. Most red fruits and vegetables provide a healthy dose of lycopene, orange produce is often high in beta-carotene, etc. That natural coloring system is also what gives black rice its nutritional perks.

Black rice gets its dark color from anthocyanins — the same ‘ingredient’ that gives blueberries their color. But beyond coloring, anthocyanins are powerful antioxidants that have been linked to reduced cancer risk and other health perks.

Preparation of black rice is also similar to brown.
