World Cup Medals for British Shooters

The British shooting team brought home three gold medals, a silver and a bronze at the IPC Shooting World Cup, which concluded this weekend (May 19-23).

Gold medals were won by Matt Skelhon in the SH1 mixed air rifle prone event and James Bevis in the SH2 mixed air rifle prone event. Both athletes equalled the World Record of 600 out of 600 to secure victory.

Bevis beat fellow Briton Adam Fontain, who also shot 600 out of 600, to the top position but Fontain took home the silver.

The third gold was won by Deanna Coates in the SH1 women’s air rifle standing event.

In the SH1 Men’s air rifle standing event, Nathan Milgate shot a score of 587 to secure a bronze medal, with Skelhon finishing in ninth in the same event.

In an excellent weekend for the team, three athletes also set new international personal bests. Fontain, who won silver in the SH2 mixed air rifle prone, recorded a new PB, as did Georgina Callingham in the SH2 mixed air rifle prone event and Adrian Bunclark in the SH1 men’s air pistol event.
